The patent system has been going through some significant changes, from becoming a first-to-file country to the recent Supreme Court “Alice” decision, which has thrown many existing companies software patent portfolios into question.

Mark Annett, a registered patent agent will not only provide an update on recent changes but also an overview of the patenting process as it applies both to software and to devices

Mark Annett, MS BMe, registered patent agent #69401, has designed spinal implements as well as having worked on neurological stimulators and heart pumps and is currently the president of Annett Enterprises, an intellectual property and product development think tank and acquisition company, with an extensive portfolio of companies including FAST Speech Therapy and TIPPS for Better Choices as well as an interest in a healthcare/entertainment robotics company.
