Building Your Startup Business on the Cloud
On Thursday, May 12, 2016 the IEEE Consultants’ Network of Northern NJ (www.TechnologyOnTap.org) will present a talk by Dr. Qiong (John) Shen
About the Topic
Ever since its first commercial appearance in 1999, cloud computing has been proved to be a very helpful and cost-effective tool for startup companies/individuals to not only agilely bring creative ideas to the market but also to uninterruptedly scale up the businesses. However, it still remains as a myth to many people, technical and non-technical, due to the diversity of forms of cloud computing services as well as associated terminologies, not to mention the “differentiation” that each service provider presents to market.
This presentation will demystify the cloud computing from the perspective of applications using real-life scenarios in layman’s words so that you can instantly start using it to solve problems, or better yet, accomplish missions impossible. Download the presentation here
About the Speaker(s)
Dr. Qiong (John) Shen graduated from New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in 2008 with his Ph.D. degree from a joint program between the Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Electrical & Computer Engineering (ECE) departments on a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded multi-disciplinary research project regarding DNA microarray. In 2014, with the help of CNNNJ, he started a consulting business under the name of Softalink LLC providing industrial software development service and cloud-based data science solutions. He is also an adjunct professor at the NJIT teaching one undergraduate class on digital design and one graduate class on computational intelligence. Dr. Shen co-owns an US patent, co-authored 23 papers and two books on revolutionizing traditional engineering subjects by numerical computation and simulation.
